THE PROBLEM YOU'RE FACING
If you're reading this, you probably recognize yourself in at least one of these:
✗ Working 60+ hour weeks has become "normal"
✗ You can't remember the last time you took a real break
✗ You're constantly exhausted but can't seem to slow down
✗ You question whether staying in architecture is worth it
✗ You feel guilty when you're not working
✗ Your health is declining from stress and lack of self-care
✗ You've lost the passion that drew you to architecture
✗ Your relationships are suffering because work always comes first
Sound familiar?
You're not alone. 96.9% of architects experienced burnout in 2021 (Survey by Monograph). But unlike most, you're here because you're ready to do something about it.
WHAT IF YOU COULD...
✓ Recognize burnout patterns before they derail your career
✓ Set boundaries that protect your time without sacrificing client relationships
✓ Build a sustainable career that allows for both great work and a meaningful life
✓ Use a proven framework (SPACES) to integrate work and life intentionally
✓ Make career decisions with clarity instead of desperation
✓ Prevent burnout from stealing your passion for architecture
You can. And this workshop will show you how.
INTRODUCING: THE ARCHITECT'S BURNOUT RECOVERY BLUEPRINT
A 90-Minute Live Workshop on December 10th
This isn't another generic wellness webinar telling you to "just take a yoga class." This is an architecture-specific recovery framework created by a licensed Architect who's lived through burnout and come out the other side.
You'll learn:
Part 1: Navigating an Architecture Career (10 min)
The unique pressures architects face that other professions don't understand
Why traditional career advice doesn't work for creative professionals
How to align your career trajectory with your actual values (not what you "should" want)
Part 2: Understanding Burnout in Architecture (15 min)
The 3 dimensions of burnout and how they show up in architecture
Warning signs you're approaching burnout (before it's too late)
Why Architects are particularly vulnerable to burnout
The difference between healthy stress and destructive burnout
Part 3: Build a Resilient Life Beyond Burnout - The SPACES Framework (35 min)
Survey where you actually are (not where you wish you were)
Plan your foundation using your core values
Arrange your priorities so the structure can hold
Construct boundaries that protect your energy
Enrich your interior life with practices that matter
Safeguard everything through consistent maintenance
How to use SPACES to build your life like you'd design a house—with intention, structure, and resilience.
Part 4: Interactive Workshop + Q&A (30 min)
Hands-on exercises to apply SPACES to your situation
Live Q&A where you get direct answers to your specific challenges
Action planning for your next 30 days
WHAT YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH
By the end of this 90-minute workshop, you'll have:
✅ Clear understanding of your personal burnout patterns
✅ The SPACES Framework to build resilient career and life integration
✅ Specific strategies you can implement immediately
✅ Digital workbook (print-ready) with exercises and templates
✅ Recording access so you can revisit the content anytime
✅ Action plan for your next 30 days of recovery and prevention
✅ Clarity on whether to stay, pivot, or transform your current situation
WHO IS THIS FOR?
✅ This Workshop Is Perfect For You If:
You're a mid-career Architect (5-15 years) experiencing burnout
You're an emerging professional (2-7 years) who wants to prevent burnout before it happens
You're questioning whether Architecture is sustainable for you long-term
You want Architecture-specific strategies (not generic wellness advice)
You're willing to invest 90 minutes to potentially transform your career
You're ready to take action (not just consume more information)
❌ This Workshop Is NOT For You If:
You need therapy or clinical mental health treatment (please seek professional help)
You're looking for a magic solution without doing any work
You prefer staying stuck to taking uncomfortable action
You're not willing to implement what you learn
WHY THIS WORKSHOP IS DIFFERENT
Created by an Architect, for Architects
I'm Mike LaValley, a licensed architect with 17+ years in the profession. I'm not a wellness guru who's never faced a design deadline—I've lived the all-nighters, impossible client demands, and toxic workplace culture.
I burned out. I recovered. And I've spent years developing frameworks to help other Architects avoid the same fate.
The SPACES Framework Is New—And Powerful
While I've been teaching burnout prevention since 2019, the SPACES Framework is brand new—a comprehensive methodology for integrating work and life that I've refined through:
17+ years of architecture practice
Hundreds of coaching conversations
9+ years of writing weekly to Architects
My own recovery journey
This workshop is the first time I'm teaching SPACES publicly.
Live, Interactive, and Actionable
This isn't a pre-recorded video course. It's a live, interactive workshop where you can:
Ask questions specific to your situation
Participate in exercises with other architects facing similar challenges
Get direct feedback and guidance from me
Build community with peers who understand what you're going through
WHAT PAST WORKSHOP ATTENDEES SAY
"Mike's presentation was my favorite of the event and it wasn't even close. All of the presentations I saw were very helpful and well put together, but Mike's was on another level. The design of the slides, the flow of the presentation, the information was extremely useful and easy to digest."
— Mental Health in Architecture Summit Attendee
"Mike's session was my favorite because he provided a personal narrative we could all relate to and then explained in detail what practical and applicable actions he took. The seminar felt both personal and practical."
— Mental Health in Architecture Summit Attendee
"Mike's session provided a lot of information I can apply to my firm."
— Burnout Workshop Session Attendee

READY TO STOP BURNING OUT?
You've read this far, which means something resonated.
→ Maybe you're exhausted from working too many hours.
→ Maybe you're questioning if architecture is sustainable.
→ Maybe you're ready to build a career that doesn't cost you everything else.
Whatever brought you here, you don't have to figure this out alone.
90 minutes on December 10th could give you the framework you've been missing—a way to build a resilient architecture career using the SPACES methodology.
The question isn't whether you need this. The question is: Are you ready to do something about it?
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What if I can't attend live?
No problem! You'll receive the full recording within 24 hours of the workshop, plus all materials. However, attending live gives you the opportunity to ask questions specific to your situation and participate in interactive exercises with other Architects.
———
Is this just for Architects experiencing active burnout?
Not at all. While the content helps those currently burned out, it's equally valuable for prevention. Emerging professionals can learn strategies to avoid burnout altogether, and mid-career architects can course-correct before things get worse.
———
How is this different from your free newsletter?
The newsletter provides weekly insights over time. This workshop condenses years of experience and the complete SPACES Framework into 90 focused minutes with interactive application. Think of the newsletter as ongoing support, and this workshop as an intensive transformation experience.
———
Will I get continuing education credits?
Unfortunately, no. I'm not yet certified by the AIA to provide CEUs. This workshop is purely for your personal and professional development.
———
What's your refund policy?
Full refund available anytime before the workshop begins (December 10, 7:00 PM ET). After the workshop starts, no refunds—but you'll have lifetime access to the recording and materials.
———
I'm not sure if I'm actually "burned out." Should I still attend?
Yes. Part of the problem is that architects normalize burnout, so you might be experiencing it without realizing it. The workshop includes a framework for assessing your burnout level and strategies whether you're preventing, recovering, or somewhere in between.
———
Can my firm purchase multiple seats?
Absolutely. Email me at [email protected] for group rates if you're bringing 3+ people from your firm. I can also discuss bringing this content directly to your firm as a custom workshop.
———
How do I use my discount code?
At checkout, you'll see a field for "Add a Coupon.” Enter RESILIENT to get $10 off (making your total $37). Newsletter subscribers should use the exclusive code sent via email for the $27 rate. If you’re a subscriber and need the code, email me at [email protected], and I’ll send one to you! Note: You have to be an active subscriber to The Resilient Architect and use the coupon before midnight on Dec 5, 2025 to receive the full discount.
———
What if I have questions after the workshop?
You'll have my email and can reach out with follow-up questions. While I can't provide ongoing coaching through email, I'm happy to point you toward resources or next steps.
———
Will this replace therapy or professional mental health treatment?
No. This is educational coaching, not therapy. If you're experiencing clinical depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions, please seek support from a licensed mental health professional. This workshop complements therapy but doesn't replace it.

ONE FINAL THOUGHT
In 2008, I graduated from Syracuse University School of Architecture, ready to change the world through design.
By 2015, I was working 50 to 60+ hour weeks, questioning whether I'd made a terrible mistake, and seriously considering leaving the profession I'd worked so hard to join.
I was burned out. Exhausted. Lost.
What saved me wasn't leaving Architecture. It was learning to build my career and life differently.
Over the past 17+ years, I've developed frameworks, strategies, and systems that allowed me to:
Build a sustainable Architecture career
Maintain meaningful relationships
Pursue passions outside of work
Help other Architects do the same
The SPACES Framework is the culmination of everything I've learned.
And on December 10th, I'm sharing it with you—live, interactive, and designed specifically for architects who refuse to accept that burnout is "just part of the job."
For less than the cost of a nice lunch, you can learn what took me 17 years to figure out.
Will I see you there?
