​Generalists connect! Meet and learn from other generalists in the Victoria area 🌊

​Dallas Road might not be unique, but you are! Come spend an evening by the ocean with folks who have squiggly line career paths, don't fit neatly in a single professional box, thrive on building connections, innovating across functions, and translating between disciplines—if any one of these resonates, congratulations, you're a generalist and this day is for you!

​Join us in celebrating International Generalist Day—a global celebration happening simultaneously across cities worldwide on September 16th, 2026.

​What to expect?

​This is a loosely structured evening of mingling. We will have name tags, conversation prompts, and the opportunity to participate in small group facilitated discussions. You will:

• ​Spend the evening outside—we will set up in the grassy park just about the beach!

• ​Connect with fellow generalists (& maybe even leave with new friends!)

• ​Celebrate the power of diverse skillsets and squiggly careers

• ​Be part of a global movement happening the same day worldwide

​Some Logistics

• ​The park is wheelchair accessible

• ​There are public washrooms that we expect will be open until dusk (~8pm)

• ​We will not be providing childcare or kid-specific event planning, but if you want/need to bring your child, please feel free to do so—you and they are very welcome.

• ​Please feel free to bring a snack, drink, chair, or sitting blanket for your comfort.

​About your host

​Jocelyn is equal parts analytical and empathetic and works at the intersection of human experience and data-driven systems design. The generalist identity has helped them find community, understanding, and direction in their professional life. They hope this meetup is a chance for other generalists out their to find and expand their community and professional identity as well. 💜
