In this session, Dr. Ruth C. White brings over 20 years of expertise in mental health and wellbeing to explore how Black professionals can navigate stress, prevent burnout, and build resilience in demanding environments. Grounded in both research and real-world experience, this conversation will unpack the systemic roots of burnout while offering practical, actionable strategies for protecting your energy and thriving long-term.

Dr. Ruth C. White, PhD MPH MSW RSW, Lumora Coaching & WellMindPlus
Ruth C. White is a speaker, writer, and consultant with over 20 years of experience in mental health and wellbeing, specializing in stress management, burnout prevention, resilience, and high-performing teams.
She has appeared on major media outlets including The Today Show, BBC World Service, CBS News LA, Women’s Health, and KRON4-TV Bay Area. Her work has supported leading organizations such as JPMorgan Chase, Indeed, the Ontario Public Service, PwC, and Premera Blue Cross.
Dr. White has been a social work professor for over two decades and currently teaches part-time at the University of Toronto. She previously held tenure at Seattle University and taught at the University of Southern California, UC Berkeley, and Fordham University.
She is the author of five books, including The Stress Management Workbook, and has contributed writing to Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, Modern Healthcare, HuffPost, and more.
