Show up. Give public comment. Help the Land Use Committee hear support for the inclusionary ordinance — before it lands in their committee for formal review.
The Land Use Committee — Supervisors Melgar, Mahmood, and Chen — is holding a previously-scheduled hearing on the state of affordable housing on Monday, June 8 at 1:30 PM. Opposition to the inclusionary changes is organizing voices for this hearing as a moment to push back. The ordinance is still at Planning Commission and won't formally reach Land Use until July — but the committee will hear the politics of the package on Monday, and our voices need to be in the room too.
On May 19, Mayor Lurie and Supervisor Melgar introduced an ordinance to update inclusionary housing requirements and a charter amendment to expand affordable housing financing — so the homes the Family Zoning Plan made legal can actually get built.
On Monday, June 8 at 1:30 PM, the Land Use Committee will take public comment as part of its hearing on the state of affordable housing. RSVP and we'll send you everything you need.

What this hearing is about
The Land Use Committee is one of the Board of Supervisors' standing committees. It hears, amends, and recommends housing legislation before it goes to the full Board. This hearing was on the calendar as a review of San Francisco's affordable housing strategy. With the May 19 package now in motion, showing support for the inclusionary changes here puts our voice in the room well before the ordinance arrives at the committee in July.
