I'm bringing a little piece of home back to Chicago, and I'd love for you to be part of it.
In the Philippines, a sari-sari store is a little neighborhood shop with a little bit of everything. More than just a place to buy things, it's a familiar part of everyday life. A place to stop by, catch up, and feel a little more connected to the people around you.
And that's the spirit behind Sari-Sari Sounds! A little bit of everything. Different sounds, different stories, and different people coming together for an intentional evening of live music, storytelling, soul, and finding a little more belonging with one another.
We'll be gathering at Visceral Adventure Lounge, a woman-owned and immigrant-owned community art space in the Humboldt Park / Logan Square area that opened just this past summer. I'm especially happy to support an independent space making room for artists, creativity, and community.
Chicago holds such a special place in my heart. I lived here after immigrating from the Philippines, and Humboldt Park was one of the neighborhoods I cherished before eventually moving to Los Angeles. So getting to return, share my music, and bring people together here feels especially meaningful. ❤️
I'll be sharing songs and stories from my journey, with Josh Oliveros accompanying me on guitar, alongside some wonderful independent Chicago artists bringing their own sounds and stories to the evening!
