Shakespeare Reading Group

​Welcome! In this group we're going to be diving into three of Shakespeare's plays together - a tragedy, a comedy, and a historical play. We'll spend about 2-3 weeks on each play with manageable reading chunks every week.

​The goal is to have engaging conversations with each other about the meaning, direction, poetry, and scope of some of the most famous and beautiful works ever written in the English language. We'll try our hand at speaking passages, explore the universality of the plays, and come to a deeper understanding of the plots through discussion.

​I highly recommend signing up even if you have never read Shakespeare at all! This is an amateur reading group with no prerequisites or assumption of knowledge, except for a committed desire to learn and participate in the groups each week.

​A bit about me: I've read about 9 of Shakespeare's plays over the last few months, as well as many classics and dramatic plays from classical antiquity over the last couple years. I have a deep interest in the world of classic literature, and am excited to meet others who have a similar interest :)
