​Let's discuss strategy for how to bring Parking Benefit Districts to the Department of Public Works and get community and business support!

​Background

​We are working on getting Parking Benefit Districts proposed to the City Council Law & Legislation Committee. Before that happens, we need to meet with City staff (DPW) to get their support. That meeting has yet to be scheduled, so we'd like to get together and talk strategy in preparation. We need to think about things like what neighborhoods would be most receptive to PBDs, what role could SST play in community outreach, what do we want our messaging to businesses to look like, and so on.

​People need to see real change on the ground and PBDs address a major hurdle to that: funding. The more stuff people see that improves their neighborhoods, the more support/demand we'll get for innovative efforts like this. It's important we get it as close to right as possible from the outset. Lend us your brains!
