​An evening of meaningful conversation at Secret Poets Society

​We're taking over one of Lisbon's best-kept basement secrets for an evening of cocktails, conversation games, and the kind of encounters you don't plan, you just show up for. And you're welcome to bring a friend to get them to know the club, just make sure they register!

Because small talk is a waste of a good cocktail. We're here to go deeper, one question at a time.

​HOW IT WORKS

​Participation in the event is free, but registration is required to reserve your place.

​Drinks are not included, and each participant will simply pay for whatever they order at the bar.

​To ensure that reserved spots are actually used, registration requires a refundable deposit.

​Anyone who attends the event will receive their deposit back after the gathering.

​WHAT TO EXPECT

• ​A curated afterwork format built around connection, not networking

• ​Guided conversation games in small groups and rotations

• ​Cocktails named after poems, made by someone who knows exactly what they're doing

• ​A low-lit, intimate basement in the heart of Bairro Alto - enter through a wine shop, descend a spiral staircase, leave with new friends

• ​Space to bring one guest someone you'd genuinely introduce to the community

​DRINKS

​Each participant orders and pays for their own drinks at the bar. The Secret Poets Society's menu is creative and ingredient-forward — expect mushroom, smoke, bitterness, and combinations that feel wrong on paper but land beautifully in the glass. Mixologist Lucas will guide you if you'd like a recommendation.

​Non-alcoholic options available — ask at the bar.

​DRESS CODE

​Smart casual - come as you are, but make it intentional. Think: what you'd wear to meet someone interesting for the first time in a beautiful, dimly lit room. No need to dress up; no need to dress down.

​VENUE - The Secret Poets Society

​This one earns its name. By day, the entrance is a perfectly innocent wine-tasting room and pastry shop. By night, you descend a spiral staircase into a low-lit basement where cocktails are named after poems and the atmosphere does something to you that's hard to explain but easy to feel.

​Unshowy, original, and genuinely memorable. The kind of place a good conversation deserves.

​YOUR HOST - Sofia Teles

​Born in Africa, raised in Portugal, shaped by decades in the U.S. and a long career in corporate banking — Sofia knows what it means to build a life with intention. A mom of two, a dancer, a hot yoga devotee, and someone who genuinely believes connection is what makes it all worthwhile. She'll be holding the room for the evening with the same energy she brings to everything: on purpose, and with joy.

​Tickets are non-refundable but transferable to another OTC member up to 48 hours before the event. Please reach out via WhatsApp if you need to transfer yours.
