While you sleep, your body doesn't take a break; it simply works differently.

But what actually happens during those hours when we seem to be doing nothing?

At The Night Shift, we'll explore the essential processes of regeneration and regulation that take place while we sleep, how sleep architecture really works, and why the quality of our nights may be one of the most important factors we can influence for long-term health and healthspan.

We'll go beyond theory and bring the science into everyday life, separating evidence from hype and turning what we know about sleep into practical strategies you can actually use.

🔬 What to expect

Sleep Myths

An interactive fact check: What do we think we know about sleep? And what does the current science actually tell us?

The Biology of Sleep

REM, NREM and the circadian rhythm. Understand why healthy sleep is about much more than simply counting hours.

Sleep & Longevity

What does the evidence tell us about sleep and brain health, cardiometabolic health and biological aging?

From Science to Action

From polyphasic sleep and shift work to supplements such as melatonin, tryptophan and magnesium and the role of caffeine metabolism. What is supported by evidence, what is uncertain, and what is simply hype?

Hands-on: Sleep Tools

Explore and discuss sleep technology and tools firsthand, from wearables such as WHOOP to blue-light filtering glasses, sleep masks and light therapy lamps.

Thomas “Tom” Lerche will guide us through the evening.

As a Hamburg-based expert in events and communication and a passionate biohacker, Tom has a talent for making complex medical and scientific topics accessible and engaging.

📍 The Venue: Prismeo Lab

For this special edition of Longevity Hamburg, we're excited to take over the Prismeo Labs in Hamburg.

The impressive showroom provides a unique setting for an evening at the intersection of science, technology and health, a space normally used by companies to explore new ideas and develop innovative solutions.

For one evening, it becomes a place where science meets community and theory meets practice.
