When AI Takes the Wheel - AI in Transportation & Mobility (Toronto)
When AI Takes the Wheel - AI in Transportation & Mobility (Toronto)
Transportation systems move millions, but they’re breaking under pressure.
Delays, congestion, inefficiencies… we live it every day.
From transportation systems to smart cities and urban mobility, AI is beginning to reshape how urban infrastructure responds, using real data from Toronto.
But what happens when systems don’t just process data, they begin to respond, adapt, and act in real time?
When traffic flows adjust dynamically, and transit systems like TTC become intelligent?
Welcome to another chapter of Built with Intelligence, where we explore how AI steps into the real world, this time, taking the wheel.
Hosted at Toronto City Hall, and in collaboration with the City of Toronto Open Data team, this session focuses on how real city data fuels real applications of AI.
From traffic flow optimization to intelligent transit systems like TTC, we go beyond the buzzwords and into what’s actually happening, using real datasets, real constraints, and real-world challenges.
This isn’t theory. This is how cities start thinking.
🎤 Featuring our panel:
• Alex Olson — a leading voice in applied AI, bringing deep insight into how intelligent systems are built and deployed in real-world environments
• + Special Guest (Transportation Expert) — offering a ground-level perspective on the realities, trade-offs, and challenges of modern transportation systems
Together, the panel bridges the gap between how cities move today and how intelligence can reshape that movement tomorrow.
🤖 Why Attend?
• Explore how AI is being applied to real transportation challenges, not just concepts
• See how open data from the City of Toronto enables more responsive, adaptive infrastructure
• Hear from experts working at the intersection of AI and urban infrastructure
• Understand both the opportunities and limitations of applying AI in real city environments
• Be part of a conversation happening right where city decisions are made, City Hall
👥 Who’s It For?
• Students, researchers, and professionals in engineering, urban planning, and data science
• Anyone interested in smart cities, transportation, and real-world AI applications
• AI enthusiasts who want to go beyond theory and see practical impact
• Curious minds who’ve ever sat in traffic and thought, there has to be a better way
This Toronto City Hall event brings together builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers across disciplines, all exploring how intelligence, powered by data, can shape the way we design, move, and live in our cities.
