Reimagining AI: Decoding AI Narratives
Join me for Part 1 of 3 of Reimagining AI: Crafting cultural narratives for AI futures!
In this virtual workshop, we will decode and dissect the narratives shaping our imagination around AI. We will:
explore the stories and headlines about AI today, including harms to the Muslim and Black/Global Majority communities,
understand the systems shaping these realities, and
interrogate the myths upholding current belief systems
This is a creative session focused on discussion and challenging ideas - no expertise in AI is needed! In fact, we want you to bring all your thoughts and lived experiences to the table!
This workshop is part of a Masters thesis project exploring Somali diasporic AI futures in 2035, and a consent form will be shared ahead of the session to capture the ideas we generate to inform my research. All names will be anonymised to maintain a safe space.
