Anxiety, Uncertainty, and Unfoldment
We are living in an age of profound uncertainty.
Artificial intelligence, political instability, economic change, climate disruption, and rapid cultural transformation have left many of us feeling that the ground beneath our lives is shifting. Anxiety has become one of the defining moods of our time.
Most approaches ask how we can reduce anxiety or regain certainty.
But what if anxiety is not simply a problem to solve?
What if it is revealing something about the world we find ourselves living in and inviting us into a different way of participating?
Drawing on Zen, contemporary neuroscience, and the Aletheia practice of unfoldment, this community gathering explores a different relationship with uncertainty. Together we'll investigate the surprising convergence between ancient wisdom and emerging psychological science, both of which suggest that freedom may not come from becoming more certain, but from learning how to remain deeply present in the midst of uncertainty.
Our meeting will include:
A contemplative teaching beginning with a Zen koan
Guided meditation
Small-group inquiry
Community dialogue and reflection
This is not about eliminating anxiety. It is an invitation to discover how uncertainty can become a doorway into deeper participation, presence, and unfoldment.
