About Event

This month, the Graduate School of Education and Haciendo Caminos is inviting you to gather and remember.

Haciendo Caminos: A Retreat for All Saints and All Souls will be held on Saturday, October 25, from 2 to 5 p.m. The program starts with a presentation in Faber Hall Bepler Commons, Fordham University Rose Hill Campus, followed by a 3:30 p.m. Mass celebrated by Francis X. McAloon, S.J. (M.Div., STL, Ph.D.). Pan de Muertos and hot chocolate will be served afterward.

Rooted in Latino Catholic traditions, the retreat offers a space to pray, reflect, and sit with memories. Through story, music, and silence, participants will reflect on the feasts of All Saints' and All Souls' Days, and on the people whose lives continue to shape their own.

Natalia Imperatori-Lee, Ph.D., a Fordham graduate and associate professor of theology, will lead the presentation. Her work focuses on feminist and Latinx theologies and the ways women claim credibility, both inside and outside the Church. She’s written for Commonweal, America, and The Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion, and is the author of Cuéntame and Women and the Church.

The event also introduces Fordham’s partnership with Haciendo Caminos, a national effort to support Latino Catholics who are discerning lives of service, ministry, and education. Fordham is one of 18 institutions across the country helping to form that next generation of leadership.

All are welcome. To attend, please RSVP to Luz Marina Díaz, Ph.D., at [email protected].
