Own Your Voice Talks
This event is curated by Rae, in collaboration with the amazing Trampoline 🛝 Note: Max capacity for this event is 30 peeps
Each of us have a unique perspective. We have an endless curiosity for the things that spark wonder within us. Own Your Voice Talks aims to create a low-pressure stage for these ideas to shine.
We’ll have 3 presenters for each session. We get to connect with their stories, listen to their insights, and get curious about our own opinions about the topic. We’ll then break out into lightly facilitated discussions to share our point of view and exchange stories.
Let’s gather in this cozy space for conversations. Rare conversations that change everything. And we've saved this seat just for you. - Rae
Agenda:
7.30 - 8PM: Feel free to da-bao your dinner and come chat. We'll have some gently facilitated ice-breakers.
8 - 8.50PM: Presentations + Q&A
8.50 - 9.30PM: Breakout sessions (your chance to share your thoughts and exchange ideas!)
9.30PM: END. Feel free to stay and mingle!
1️⃣ How to Ruin Your Life (By Choosing the Wrong Partner) "but I don't want to be alone." - Iman, Former Divorce Lawyer
As a former divorce lawyer, I had a front row seat to how people ruin their lives. Not with crime, but by saying “I do” to the wrong person. Red flags don’t look like red flags. They look like charm, intensity, or “we just clicked”. Settle in as I share with you some lawyer war stories - you don’t need Netflix when you’ve seen what people put in affidavits.
2️⃣ Playing With No Rules: What D&D Taught Me About Storytelling and Creativity - Georgia, Storyteller, Bard, and Occasional Dice Roller
Maybe you’ve heard of Dungeons and Dragons by watching Stranger Things, but you’ve never actually played. Pen and paper scare you, and the thick rulebooks put you off. Even after playing for a decade, sometimes I still don’t remember the rules. At its core, D&D is really about telling a story with your friends at a table. Join us to explore why imagination is important for all of us.
3️⃣ Unveiling the Mask of Shame - (finding) Agnes
For many years, I walked the safe and reasonable path of corporate life despite having to mask and perform. Overtime, I realised I had shrunk my soul so small it almost disappeared. One night, a breakdown became my biggest breakthrough. Through my story (and an original poem I'll be sharing) I'd like to show us that it is through the lifting of shame, we can live again.
Join us for an evening of stories, insights, and unplanned conversations 💬
