​In this interactive session, we will explore self-awareness as a practical skill for the person behind the L&D role. We will look at what we notice in ourselves, what others may notice in us, and how the gap between intention and impact affects our communication, facilitation, and performance.

​In the session, we will:

• ​Recognize why self-awareness is often overestimated, especially under pressure.

• ​Explore the gap between intention and impact in communication and facilitation.

• ​Use the four CTRL awareness states as a practical reflection lens.

• ​Receive practical awareness tips.

​About the speaker:

​Toby Newman is a Learning & Development Consultant with over 25 years of experience in the industry and the founder of the CTRL Awareness Model™. His work focuses on self-awareness, learning mindset, psychological safety, and the human side of development. He is currently building CTRL as a practical awareness diagnostic for individuals, coaches, and teams, helping people explore the gap between self-perception, behavior, and impact.
