​On September 23rd, it'll ~finally~ be my 30th birthday!

​Growing up, big celebrations were often commemorated at Russian restaurants, which were extravagant and over-the-top banquet halls with delicious post-Soviet food, live music, and “world pop.” I want to recreate this for my 30th without it being at an actual Russian restaurant, but a makeshift version of one - with the help of my friends and family!

There will be a classic “Russian” Restaurant style dinner and drinks served by Old Bats, a pop-up run by my buddies Nicole (a Ukrainian Jew) and her husband Quentin. My cousin, Mona, will be singing + performing live music - and there will be opportunities to dance, share jokes, and give toasts.

​The dress code is metrosexual + post-Soviet camp! Here are some references.

​Ultimately, think: leather, fur (or faux) coats, drama, glitter, pseudo bougie. Make sure to douse yourself in your favorite perfume and/or cologne.

​This is invite only and only select people are coming. I know a lot of people, but have to keep things tight, so try not to ask people about whether they’re coming to my bday or not - just ask me ahead ot time because you know I’ll feel guilty and invite them anyway.
