Boldly Brown: A Conversation for South Asian Men
You know that feeling where you are surrounded by people and still feel like nobody actually knows you?
Yeah. That is what we are getting into.
Boldly Brown is an evening for South Asian men in LA, put together by JiVA Mental Health and ASAN. The format is simple: a few guys on a panel having a real conversation, and a room that gets to be part of it.
We are talking about the stuff that actually comes up:
Dating, marriages, relationships. What it is actually like navigating that as a South Asian man right now, with everything your family expects and everything the world expects and somewhere in there, what you actually want.
Men's health. The physical stuff you keep putting off and the emotional stuff you were never taught to talk about.
Identity and isolation. Who you are when you are not performing for someone else. And why so many of us feel alone even when our calendar is full. Loniliness is taking over for men.
Substance culture. Drinking is everywhere in our social lives. We are going to actually talk about that.
The panel is moderated by Nicholas Jain, therapist with JiVA Mental Health. The vibe is a group chat than group therapy.
Doors open at 6:15pm. Light snacks and drinks are included. 2 hours of conversation, community and connection.
$20. That is it.
