Climate Reserve Reception: Collaborations in the Spotlight
For decades, the public sector has provided invaluable resources to the work of measuring, forecasting, and responding to climate change’s impacts. But this work is increasingly becoming a target of hostility, leaving the future of that support in serious doubt.
Effective climate action depends on a “human grid”: the people, networks, and institutions that collect technical climate knowledge and translate it into solutions. That grid is now under unprecedented strain, and must be reimagined to endure new threats.
Climate Reserve is constructing a strategic backstop for the human grid. We have built a powerhouse coalition of partner organizations and experts to advance two reinforcing aims: rescue and reinvention. We are simultaneously creating new homes in stable institutions for personnel and projects jettisoned by the federal government and proactively connecting field-leading experts in science, policy, and frontline coordination to create new connective tissue across the climate action support ecosystem.
As a coalition-driven, philanthropically funded initiative, Climate Reserve has partnered with more than 40 experts and organizations across various sectors, including climate science, mitigation, adaptation, environmental justice, and science policy.
During Climate Week NYC, Climate Reserve is hosting a reception to spotlight the collaborative efforts of its coalition. Come learn more!
