Join the Effective Altruists at Berkeley in our crash-course on EA, learning about its principles, history, focus, and what it looks like in the real world. Brunch will be provided, alongside cookies, snacks, energy drinks, sodas, and great vibes!

Itinerary:
12:00 PM: Arrive, grab a name tag, each brunch, mingle
12:30 PM: What is EA? It's history, philosophical foundations, examples, and what it means to be effective.
1:45 PM: Cause Area Overview (Global Poverty, AI Safety, Animal Welfare, bio-safety)
3:00 PM: Break with delicious food (and a courtyard, and a pool table, and ping-pong, a garden, and so much more!)
3:30: Deep-dive discussion on a cause-area (split into tables to talk to students focusing on these fields)
4:00: Open-ended discussion combining what we've learned
4:30: The EA ecosystem as it exists, current organizations and what they do, and Meta-EA
4:50: Resources for getting more involved and great resources to check out
5:15: Draft a plan for learning more, best next steps, and a career roadmap
6:00: Dinner in Berkeley! (Location yet to be decided!)
