About Event

Maggie Glass is a postdoctoral researcher in English Linguistics at TU-Dortmund University, Germany (Ph.D. 2021, University of Limerick, Ireland). Her background is in Celtic language revitalisation, examining the role of media and technology in language revitalisation initiatives, ranging from fandom communities on social media. She has additionally explored how the Human-Machine Era impacts language vitality. Her work has engaged with language policy on- and offline, and technology ethics. Currently, her work examines the linguistic landscape, and resulting social implications, that have developed due to the American military presence in Southwest Germany.
