The power of relationships with Topher Wilkins, Opportunity Collaboration

​What becomes possible when relationships are the very center of a network and convening? In our next Wasan Session, we’ll be in conversation with Topher Wilkins from Opportunity Collaboration (OC) about what he has learned through more than a decade of building a community around the power of relationships rather than transactions. OC is a global network of more than 4,000 leaders dedicated to building sustainable solutions to poverty and injustice. Through its annual three-day collaborative summit and unconference-style approach, OC creates space for unexpected encounters, friendships, connections, and collaborations to emerge.

​We’ll hear from Topher about what he’s seen emerge through the community over the years: the unexpected friendships and connections, the bridges built across differences, and the collaborations that have grown from genuine relationships and trust.

​Topher has been convening and connecting people for social change for more than 20 years, beginning with the Highland City Club, a membership community of 300 change-makers in Boulder, Colorado. He later managed Dunton Hot Springs, one of North America’s top all-inclusive resorts and retreat centers, and founded Conveners.org, a group of 150+ impact conferences and accelerators.

​Today, alongside his leadership of the Opportunity Collaboration’s global network of 3,000+ nonprofit executives, for-profit social entrepreneurs, grant-makers, impact investors, corporates, media, and academics building sustainable solutions to poverty and injustice, he also leads Connective Impact, a comprehensive membership network providing critical connections, resources, and intelligence to help demystify the international development funding landscape.
