About Event

Come make a game and support queer charities! We're hosting a game jam to raise funds for a handful of queer centered charities.

Theme
This jams overarching theme is: "COLLABORATION". We'd love to see games that feature co-op play, mechanics themed around collaboration or perhaps a design feature that all players add to? It can be whatever this means to you and your team. There will also be a surprise extra theme on the day for your team that will add another creative aspect to add to your game!

Entry to the jam is free upon proof of donation to one of the following charities:
Lavender Menace - Edinburgh based and the only queer books archive in Scotland, preserving queer literature and making it freely available to the community
Five for Five - Monthly crowdfunding given to five community chosen transfem groups or individuals to support them or their work.
LGBT Youth - Supports young 13-25s with youth work opportunities, creating inclusive spaces for learning, work and community.

The links take you directly to their donation pages but you can find out more about our chosen charities on their websites!

How do I enter?
Book your free ticket below, then donate to one of the three of our chosen charities. That's it! If there are no tickets available below, unfortunately the jam is full. You can still donate to the charities, but it won't count as a ticket to the jam.

You don't have to donate to all three, we just wanted to give you a bit more choice about where your donation goes, and highlight some resources.

What is a game jam?
Pride Jam is an event where everyone will form teams and make a tabletop game in just a few hours, and then get to play each others' creations! It's a lot of fun, and you don't need experience in game making to take part, though it helps!

We'll all arrive, get settled in and team up. Then, the host will give out the extra themes that you can use in your games, and then you get to work! There will be paper, pencils and other basic game making essentials available to you, but if you've got a lucky die or a favourite set of pencils, feel free to bring and use your own supplies too!

Do I need to have a team beforehand?
You can form teams beforehand, or form teams on the day. Either way, no one works alone, and we'll make sure you find a team. There may also be a social event beforehand to meet people and form teams, but more on that TBC.
