CIMC Hackathon: A-Life
We're doing this one differently.
More time to build, and a theme to anchor it: Artificial Life.
Artificial Life explores how complex, adaptive, and life-like behaviors emerge from simple computational rules and constraints. Drawing on biology, complex systems, and AI, A-Life asks a fundamental question: what are the minimal conditions necessary for life-like phenomena to arise?
We invite you to build systems that exhibit emergent behavior — digital ecosystems, evolving agents, swarm models, generative simulations, or related work across any medium.
The criterion is not complexity of design, but complexity of outcome: your system should produce behaviors that were not explicitly programmed.
Approaches from science, engineering, and art are equally welcome.
Schedule:
1:00 PM — Talk by Joscha Bach
