DCC 008 | PLAY DATE | a playful social for the ones running low on joy
somewhere between growing up and getting busy, most of us forgot how to play. the pointless, joyful, unserious kind that your brain actually needs.
research shows that play reactivates the dopamine seeking system, the part of your brain responsible for curiosity, motivation, and joy. when it gets starved, everything else starts to feel harder: focus, creativity, emotional range, all of it.
play date is a dedicated social for the ones running low on joy, who need a reminder that joy is a practice, not a reward for productivity.
we're taking over a corner of draughts stratford, one of london's best board game venues, for three hours of good food, good drinks, and genuinely good fun.
what to expect
a relaxed friday evening with a small group of people who also needed this. access to hundreds of board games, food and drinks available throughout, and light conversation that makes you feel happy, not anxious.
