PMOS, Formerly Known as PCOS
PCOS has a new name – Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovary Syndrome.
To celebrate the recent renaming of PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovary Syndrome), you’re invited to an online panel session with the co-author of the landmark paper and multidisciplinary experts.
The session will support clinicians in understanding the change and improving care across disciplines.
PMOS, formerly known as PCOS, is a multi-system disorder that affects multiple hormones, particularly androgens (male-type hormones such as testosterone) and insulin.
It is the most common hormone condition affecting 12 per cent of adult women and can cause a range of symptoms including irregular menstrual cycles, acne, excess hair growth, an increased risk of anxiety and depression, and is the leading cause of infertility due to a reduction in ovulation.
If you are a healthcare professional looking to deepen your understanding of PMOS, this event offers valuable insights from multiple clinical perspectives.
