Phone-Free Social // Experiment
What happens when you give your full attention to the people in front of you—no scrolling, no “just one quick check,” no escape into your screen?
This evening is a gentle experiment in that question.
Join us at Bampot for a phone-free social designed for presence, real conversation, and getting a little bit out of your comfort zone. We’ll be practicing being actively ourselves - curious, honest, imperfect—even with people we’ve just met.
Bampot is an anti-café full of cozy corners, teas, and board games. You’re welcome to come with friends, but the invitation is to lean into meeting new people: share stories, listen deeply, play a game with strangers, or sit and soak in the atmosphere - without the constant pull of your phone.
What to Expect
Phone-free(ish) zone:
We’ll encourage everyone to put their phone away for the evening. If you feel the urge to check it, notice it. Ask yourself: Why now? How important is it to leave this room and go into that screen?
As a playful challenge: if you can’t remember a fact, resist the urge to “just Google it.” It’s okay not to know.Active presence practice:
Simple prompts, conversations, or games that help you:Be more real and less performative
Listen to understand, not just to reply
Stay with the moment instead of reaching for a distraction
Board games & tea culture:
Bampot has a variety of board games and an extensive unlimited tea selection available, plus its unique anti-café format. Please take a moment beforehand to check out how their menu and pricing work so you know what to expect.
