About Event

You’re invited to join us for a fast-paced, inspiring afternoon where biomedical engineering students pitch bold solutions to real-world challenges aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As part of their final course project, students from UBC's BMEG 402 have identified urgent global problems, from food deserts and airbag safety to plastic waste in oceans, and developed thoughtful, systems-level solutions rooted in biomedical engineering and sustainability.

These are not polished startups but they’re ideas in motion:
✔ Rooted in real-world data
✔ Framed through the lens of systems thinking and equity
✔ Thought out for environmental, social, and economic impact
✔ Pitched with creativity, clarity, and care

Why attend?
🌱 Get inspired by how young engineers are thinking about global problems, and learn about the SDGs
🎤 Hear 17 pitches from biomedical engineering students
🤝 Join a community of people passionate about impact, innovation, and the future of engineering

This is a celebration of bold thinking, early wins, and the power of student imagination. We’d love to have you there.
