Framework to Action: Skills-First Workshop for Union Leaders and Employers

• ​12pm to 1pm --> Registration & Lunch

• ​1pm to 4pm --> Workshop

​This interactive workshop brings union leaders and employers together to explore how skills-first practices can strengthen workforce outcomes for workers while supporting business and workforce transformation needs.

​Through facilitated discussions and hands-on activities, you will:

• ​Reflect on the worker experience — starting with your own, explore what matters in your career and what career fitness means in different contexts.

• ​Explore Skills-First practices — identify practices that could be relevant and useful in real workplace settings.

• ​Identify what helps or gets in the way — examine the everyday situations and barriers that can make these practices easier or harder to put into action.

• ​Connect worker realities to organisational needs — consider how insights from workers can help employers and unions design and support practices that are more relevant, practical and effective.

• ​Exchange and identify practical actions — learn from other employers and union leaders and identify actions that can be explored in your own workplace or union context.

​This event is organised by the Centre for Skills-First Practices at the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), Singapore University of Social Sciences, together with the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Ong Teng Cheong Labour Leadership Institute (OTCI). It is supported by Lifelong Learning Singapore and the Skills and Workforce Development Agency, and is held in support of the SkillsFuture Festival.
