Cook with Joy
This is a cook and makan session where we make food that reflects South Indian heritage and personal values of home cook, Deepa.
Deepa’s food are simple yet intentional, flavourful, and satisfying.
Learn what are her family’s recipes, what are her own innovations, and where she’s still learning & experimenting.

If you enjoy eating at South Indian restaurants, you may be familiar with Thali.
Thali is a complete Indian meal that features small portions of different dishes that are culturally significant, nutritionally diverse, and offer a symphony of flavours and textures.
In this session, we join Deepa to make and enjoy a mini thali. It includes: a welcome snack; idli podi; rice flakes & jaggery; rice, rasam & sambar; and a digestive drink.
--
Some highlights:
Bring home a container of chilli powder blended using Deepa’s family recipe.
Taste freshly made podi. When sambar or chutney isn’t on the table, podi becomes a simple yet satisfying companion to thosai or idli.

This session is held at a communal kitchen and we are able to offer a community rate thanks to our venue sponsor.
