A Gender-Affirmative Path: Building a Secure Base for Your Trans Child (Saturday Intensive)
“Your child is not broken. They are not a problem to be solved. They are a person on a journey of discovering their authentic self.”
If you are a parent feeling overwhelmed, confused, or frightened by your child’s gender journey, you are in the right place. Most parents find themselves stuck asking, “Is this a phase?” or “Did I do something wrong?”
This 8-hour Saturday Intensive is designed to help you move from fear to confident, informed action. Using the lens of Attachment Theory and clinical expertise, we shift the focus from trying to "fix" or "predict" to becoming the Secure Base your child needs to thrive.
What We’ll Cover:
The New Paradigm: Moving from pathology (the "old lens") to a diversity-informed approach.
Processing Your Emotions: A safe space to validate your own grief and "mourn the future you imagined" so you can show up fully for your child.
The Secure Base Role: How to be the "Lighthouse" and "Safe Harbor" rather than the "Fixer."
The Life-Saving Data: Why affirmation is a medical-grade intervention (including the data on how chosen names reduce risk by 56%).
The Nitty-Gritty: Practical steps for names, pronouns, gender expression, and creating a "Gender Support Plan" for school.
The goal is not to be a perfect parent. The goal is to be an affirming parent. That makes all the difference.
