Mainstreaming diversity in shifting times
Gender diversity, and diversity more broadly, currently appears to be losing visibility and political attention. In the current political landscape, diversity is sometimes perceived as a secondary or even controversial issue. In some contexts, people may even feel hesitant to publicly advocate for stronger diversity commitments. This shift can make it more challenging to explicitly integrate diversity considerations into campaigns, programmes and policy design.
This lunch discussion aims to openly reflect on these developments and explore practical questions together:
* How can diversity remain meaningfully embedded in policy and programme design, even when it is less politically prominent?
* Are there strategic, narrative or structural approaches that allow actors to continue advancing diversity objectives?
* What role can civil society, policymakers and networks play in ensuring that diversity considerations are not sidelined?
We would like to exchange experiences and identify concrete strategies for navigating this evolving environment.
Aurélie Maréchal, Executive Director of Positive Money, will open the session with a brief introduction to the topic, followed by an open, moderated discussion. We warmly invite anyone interested in this dialogue to join us for an opportunity to share insights and inspire one another. To maintain an intimate setting, the exact location within the European Quarter will be shared upon registration. Please note that participants are asked to cover the cost of their own lunch.
