Across Borders: Burgenland - Liminal histories through food, wine and conversation
Hey Oddkins! We've been fermenting this little project for a few weeks, and now it's suddenly here! It's an incredibly sparkling triangular collaboration between Oddkin's founders, one of our dear partners (Oli from Drops Contemporary Wines) and...one of our beloved subscribers. Yes, when we say that Oddkin Is Yours To Do Whatever You Want With It, we really mean it.
Hopefully we'll have enough fun and good feedback to make it a regular series. Here's a few words from our almighty fellow Oddkin Vin, proud Medium Membership Flagbearer, who was both the spark and the engine behind this community-fueled event.
“At the far eastern borderlands of Austria with Hungary, winemakers Christian Tschida, Heinrich, Weninger and Lichtenberger González have forged their reputations by digging deep into their own roots: history, soil, climate and local grape varietals.
With the wines as a starting point, we want to invite the Oddkin community to discuss the history of the region, its cross-cultural heritage, and its place in a hyper-globalised world of food production.
During our conversation we will pour wines from four different wine growers, each one paired by cold dishes that showcase Oddkin’s products”
