The Black History Month Book Jam
What is the Black History Month Book Jam all about?
Too many "Top Books" lists disproportionately showcase white male authors.
It's time to diversify our bookshelves and our brains.
On Thursday, February 23rd, in honor of Black History Month, we'll gather to share our new (or old favorite) books by people of color and the reasons we love them.
What is a Book Jam?
Leaders are readers. But it can feel overwhelming to find time and motivation to read, especially with so many books out there! At a Book Jam, you'll connect with other amazing people and find your next favorite books by sharing your favorite books.
You’ll capture your top 2 favorite books in a simple format that makes sharing and browsing new books and ideas easy, even though you won’t meet every person in the session.
The Essentials: The Event in a Nutshell
+This event is 55 minutes long
+ It will take place on Zoom
+ It will be a highly participatory event. Show up with your camera on.
+After the 55-minute event is over, people are welcome to hang out and chat…the after party is always the best part!
Come ready to Participate
This isn’t a one-way webinar. This will be a highly interactive and conversational format. Expect small group conversations and opportunities to connect with interesting colleagues. Be ready to share stories about your new and old favorite books!
