The focus of this event will be on graduating and recent alumni, and how to leverage their LinkedIn for job search. However, any interested student from campus is welcome to attend.
With its increasing popularity, LinkedIn has become the go-to platform for professional networking, quickly forcing everyone to take on influencer personas and think about personal branding in ways we haven't before. Although it's unlikely to result in free meals or swag, having an active LinkedIn profile can have large payouts, from helping you snag that first job to unleashing new opportunities for professional growth. This talk will walk you through some of the do's and don'ts of the platform and allow you to test out some of LinkedIn's lesser-known features.

Miranda Stahn is an Alberta-based science communicator, writer and STEM professional. She holds a Bachelor's and Master of Science from the University of Alberta. Throughout her career, Miranda has learned to leverage personal branding and marketing techniques to gain opportunities, from securing board positions to building her business.
