About the Book Party

Join us for a book party with Vu Le, author of the blog nonprofitAF.com and the new book, Reimagining Nonprofits and Philanthropy: Unlocking the Full Potential of a Vital and Complex Sector. Known for his humor, candor, and sharp analysis of nonprofit life, Vu brings more than two decades of experience as a nonprofit leader, writer, and co-founder of the Community-Centric Fundraising movement.

Hosted by Lisa Garrett Keiser and Marquita James (of Lagniappe Consulting), this learning lab will be a lively dialogue grounded in Vu’s work and the questions his book raises for nonprofit and philanthropic leaders. Together, we’ll make space to laugh, reflect, gently side-eye some nonprofit norms, and consider what becomes possible when leadership is grounded in love, liberation and shared responsibility rather than scarcity, hierarchy, and burnout.

Participants are invited to join the live conversation, share reflections, and bring questions for Vu. We’ll close the gathering with a book raffle for attendees, so make sure to stay until the end!

About Vu Le

Vu Le writes the blog nonprofitAF.com, which details the humor and frustration of nonprofit work. He is a vegan, Pisces, seitan-worshipper, and defender of the Oxford Comma. Vu has over two decades of experience in the sector, including 13 years as an executive director across two nonprofits. He is one of the co-founders of the Community-Centric Fundraising movement. Vu has written a new book called “Reimagining Nonprofits and Philanthropy: Unlocking the Full Potential of a Vital and Complex Sector,” which his 10-year-old said, “Is not as boring as I thought it would be.” In his free time, Vu hangs out with his kids, watches TV shows and movies, and eats way too much dark chocolate. He has a BA in psychology and a Master of Social Work, which disappoints all his relatives.
