​In 2025, we were denied Place Poelaert for.

​Yet this is where we initiated the first daytime open airs and proved that another model was possible.
We made it a success. Maybe even too much of a success.

​Today, we are clearly talking about a “mainstream invasion”: driven by the same actors who are progressively monopolizing space, visibility, and decision-making power, with a growing threat to cultural diversity and democratic balance. And this year, the City of Brussels @philippe_close went even further by placing some of these same actors on the jury.

​After denouncing these conflicts of interest, we were asked to resubmit authorizations already provided in 2025, while organizations structurally connected to members of the jury [including shared entities] were once again selected across multiple locations. We refuse to be judged by those helping build the monopoly we are fighting against, a monopoly that suffocates emergence, standardizes the scene, and slowly privatizes public space.
So we are coming back.

​Because electronic culture does not belong to a handful of structures.
Because public space belongs to everyone.
Because a free scene does not ask for permission to exist.

​This year, Protest Elektronik returns to Poelaert.
No DJs allowed? Fine. We will still gather, play music, and occupy the space together for a few hours.
