The Painful Shoulder Complex ≠ Complicated
An intensive two-day course with specialist physiotherapist Adam Meakins

8 & 9 October 2027 · rehathleticum, Salzufer, Berlin

About the course

Painful shoulders are one of the most common complaints therapists and trainers face on a daily basis and yet the shoulder remains surrounded by myths, unnecessary techniques, and needlessly complex concepts.

This course cuts through all of that. Over two intensive days, Adam Meakins presents a clear, honest, and evidence-based approach to the assessment, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of the painful shoulder, free from cookie-cutter protocols, gimmicks, and gadgets.

If you want a straightforward, realistic, and person-centred framework for helping people with shoulder pain, this course is for you.

What you will learn

  • Simplify the assessment, diagnosis, and management of the most common painful shoulder conditions in line with the best available evidence

  • Understand shoulder anatomy and biomechanics without overinterpretation, only what truly matters clinically

  • Assess shoulder movement, strength, power, endurance, and proprioception efficiently and without unnecessary complexity

  • Apply and progress shoulder rehabilitation exercises based on individual ability and response

  • Use higher-level functional testing to confirm full return to capability after pain, injury, or surgery

  • Expose and challenge the most persistent myths around scapular control, the cervical spine, hypermobility, and pathology
