People are often shocked to learn that the higher you climb, the less your technical expertise matters. The opportunities that come your way, the rooms you get invited into, the people who advocate for you when you are not there are all determined by how safe people feel when they are around you. That's the social capital most leadership programs never teach you how to build.
How you show up when you're dysregulated, when things are hard, and when there's a lot of uncertainty says more about your character and executive presence than any of that other stuff, which is what we'll explore in this session.
