TEDxWeekend Kuala Lumpur
The shadow of the clock tower at Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad stretches across Dataran Merdeka, a silent witness to a century of Malaysian history. But as the sun sets and the city lights flicker to life, the air is thick with a different kind of energy. It’s the hum of the "Boleh" spirit—the unshakeable belief that here, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, anything is possible.
From July 10-12, 2026, we invite you to step into that energy at TEDxWeekend Kuala Lumpur. Under the theme "Semua Boleh — All is Possible," affirming that bold ideas belong in the hands of dreamers and doers everywhere, including you.
What is a TEDx Weekend?
TEDxWeekend is an international gathering like no other that is put on for organizers, by organizers, when you are the audience (for once). TEDxWeekend Kuala Lumpur will be a three-day immersive TEDx organizers gathering with workshops, city and community tours, to selections of local delicacies to enjoy.
A note from the TED team
TEDxWeekend Kuala Lumpur is a qualifying event. By attending, you will become eligible to apply for a Community Plus license, which allows organizers to host TEDx events with more than 100 attendees. Please note that attending a qualifying event does not automatically grant you a TEDx event license – you must still apply for a license and be approved. If you have any questions about this, reach out to [email protected].
Who can attend?
TEDxWeekend(s) are created by and for TEDx organizers. All TEDx organizers are eligible to register — including licensees, co-organizers, and team members — however, speakers, partners, and other external guests are not included; this Weekend is dedicated to the core organizing teams. To register, you must be listed on your team’s TEDx event page.
If you are not listed, please include your licensee's contact in the registration or ask your event’s licensee to email [email protected] to confirm your role so that we can process your registration.
Age requirement

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
FAQs overall TEDxWeekends
Who from my team is eligible to attend?
All TEDx organizers are eligible to register — including licensees, co-organizers, and team members (not speakers, partners, etc. TEDxWeekends are specifically for TEDx organizers.) In order to expedite your registration, make sure you’re listed as a team member on your team’s TED.com event page.
Is there an age restriction?
Both TEDxWeekends are 18+ events. You must be 18 years or older by the date the event starts to participate. No exceptions will be made.
Will there be any discounts or special pricing for tickets?
No, but you can use part of your team’s event budget to cover the costs of attending a TEDxWeekend.
How will I get my 100+ qualification/Community Plus status?
Just by attending one of the TEDxWeekends! There are no additional steps required, and you should not expect to receive a confirmation email afterwards. To expedite your permanent status update, please register with the same email as your TEDx licenses.
Is 100+ qualification a TEDx license?
Our internal records will be updated to reflect your 100+ qualification after the weekend, but it itself is not a license. If you already hold an active license for an upcoming event, that license will be updated to reflect your newly designated 100+ status. If you do not hold an active license, you’ll still need to apply for one before you start planning your next event.
My TEDx event is taking place before the Weekend I’m joining. Can I get my 100+ qualification in advance so that I can hold a larger event?
No. You are only allowed to expand your audience size after attending the event.
If I attended a TEDxWeekend in the past, do I get 100+ qualification?
No. The only two weekends that are organized and accredited as qualifying events are TEDxWeekend Kuala Lumpur and TEDxWeekend Amazônia.
Can I attend both Weekends?
Of course! However, you only need to attend one TEDxWeekend to get 100+ qualification (if you don’t have it already).
Are TEDxWeekends organized by TED?
No, TEDxWeekends are organized independently by local TEDx teams. Organizers follow TED's principles but have complete freedom to shape the event's content and design.
