Board game night in Westbury at Drop of the Creator, a Ligare Gathering. First Sunday of the month, we play the big games. This month: Splendor. The theme: On layaway. The card you want is sitting right there. The question is whether you can wait for it.
Come on your own or bring a friend for free with your ticket, if it's their first time. We'll teach you the rules in about five minutes and seat you with people you don't know yet, which is the whole point.

Sundays are for the big boards. These are the games that earn a whole afternoon — Splendor, Catan, Ticket to Ride, Rumble Nation — real strategy, a bigger table, and the kind of shared focus that turns strangers into people you know. We bring the game, teach it at your table, and hand you an afternoon someone else has already thought through.
A Ligare Gathering is a hosted afternoon of a great board game and real conversation, at a table of people chosen to feel like yours. Every detail is handled, so all you have to do is show up and be you.
the theme: on layaway
October is for the things we're saving up for — and the things we keep filing under later. Splendor is a game of delayed payoffs: the gems in front of you are easy, but the card you actually want takes patience, planning, and the nerve to reserve it while everyone watches. Which makes it the perfect table for a conversation about waiting well — what you're building toward, what "later" is quietly costing you, and how to tell the difference between patience and postponement.
Never played? Perfect. Splendor is about 5 rules deep and endlessly replayable — we teach it at your table in five minutes, and you'll be reserving cards out from under people by your second turn. You don't need to be a board game person. You need to show up curious.
how a sunday runs
before you arrive — Take the Connection Quiz once (ten minutes, ever — or a shorter version when you show up). We use it to seat you with people matched on personality, life stage, and how you connect. Invite a friend, and bring them free; tell us in advance if you want to sit together. Before doors, you'll get everything you need for your afternoon: your game, the rules, a pre-game playlist, and what to expect.
when you arrive (4:00) — A host greets you at the door, gets you a nametag, and welcomes you into a room where everyone came for the same reason you did. Grab a drink and settle in — food and drinks are available from the Drop of the Creator menu.
your table (4:30) — You're paired with a table based on how you actually connect, not surface similarity. You light a candle, and a Spark Card opens things — not an icebreaker, a real question worth answering. We teach the game in five minutes, then the afternoon unfolds: you play, talk, and open more cards as it deepens.
after — Blow out the candle, linger, keep talking. Most people stay longer than they planned. Tell us who you'd love to see again — if it's mutual, we'll follow up. Next month, the table is set again.

Day-of registrations are welcome; some personalization may not be fully tailored in time.
Tickets become non-refundable one day before the gathering — that's when table-building begins.
