548 Foundation Mock Interview Day | Volunteer Interviewers
Give a student one practice interview before the interview that counts.
548 Foundation is inviting professionals from across Chicago to spend a Saturday morning helping our students prepare for one of the most important steps between training and employment: the interview.
There are parts of interview preparation that simply cannot be replicated through a presentation, worksheet, or classroom exercise. Sitting across from another person. Introducing yourself. Thinking through an unexpected question. Explaining your experience. Receiving immediate, thoughtful feedback.
That kind of practice matters.
On October 3rd, our students will participate in structured, in-person mock interviews with volunteer professionals who can help them build confidence and strengthen the skills they’ll carry into real interviews with employers and apprenticeship programs.
No construction or trade experience is required.
If you have experience interviewing, hiring, supervising, managing, mentoring—or simply navigating the professional world—you have something valuable to offer.
And you do not need to prepare anything in advance. 548 Foundation will provide all interview questions, instructions, evaluation materials, schedules, pens, resources, and onsite support needed to participate. Just show up ready to have a conversation, offer constructive feedback, and encourage a student who is preparing for their next opportunity.
Our students are incredibly appreciative of professionals who take the time to invest in their development. A few hours of your Saturday can give someone the confidence, practice, or piece of feedback that changes how they walk into their next real interview.
What we’re asking from you:
Arrive at 8:30 AM for check-in and a brief orientation. Interviews will run from 9:00–11:30 AM. We’ll provide breakfast/coffee and everything you need for the morning.
