One-Day Ember Retreat

​We’re all born with something that lights us up. This is our ember. It shows up in how we play and create as kids. We fall in love with it, so we follow that passion into roles and careers and jobs that pay the bills.

​But sometimes those roles and careers and jobs stop working for us. They stop being something we do and start feeling like who we are. We confuse our job for our ember. So when that job breaks, falls apart, or changes, it can feel as if our whole identity has collapsed. We find ourselves exhausted, performing, unable to rest, feeling like we need to ask permission to slow down. Separated from what inspired us in the first place.

​You’re not alone.

​Together, we'll sit with our embers for a day. Through conversation, storytelling, journaling, and a few simple exercises, we'll untangle the ember from the job and see that there are any number of setups where it can come alive. You'll leave with a few sentences, in your own words, that describe your ember, and a clearer sense of what you can stop carrying. You'll walk away less stuck, more hopeful, and lighter than you came.

Please bring a notebook and something to write with. I'll provide coffee, BYO snacks. Lunch is on your own, and there are plenty of good spots right down the street in Westerville. We'll have a few individual reflection times, so bring comfortable shoes in case you want to go on a walk.
