Create Your Own Luck Through Thought Leadership
Earlier this year, Elsie Member Kate Booth had an idea for a white paper on the gaps in diagnosis, research and care for women with premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). She had no formal team behind it, so she emailed leading clinicians in the field and asked if they’d collaborate. They said yes.
After publishing the paper, Kate sent it to the Global Medical Director of a large pharma company. A last-minute meeting at ESHRE the following week has since grown into strategic consulting work around POI and unmet need.
In this session, Kate will share what happened and what it taught her about creating opportunities before you feel established enough to pursue them.
We’ll cover:
⭐️ How to build visible expertise around an issue you care about, even without a team or an invitation
⭐️ How thought leadership can open doors beyond traditional medical writing
⭐️ Making the most of conferences, unexpected conversations and opportunities that initially seem small
⭐️ What it can look like to move from “writer for hire” towards strategic consulting
You’ll leave with ideas for putting your expertise into the world and recognising where it could lead. Kate will speak for 45 minutes, followed by Q&A.
