About Event

ASSEDEL (Association européenne pour la défense des droits et des libertés) is pleased to invite you to our new panel discussion: "Security with Values: Defending Human Rights through EU Missions", co-hosted by MEP Catarina Vieira (Greens/EFA).

European security policy is increasingly visible to citizens through EU civilian missions and military operations under the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). At the same time, the EU’s identity and credibility in external action rest on human rights, the rule of law, and international humanitarian law. This event aims to clarify how EU missions and operations function in practice (mandates, governance, funding, oversight) and to assess how human rights safeguards are operationalised and monitored on the ground.

The discussion will be followed by an interactive Q&A session, where participants will have the opportunity to interact with the speakers.

Stay tuned to discover the panelists!

Open for registration until 10 June - Seats are limited!

Please note that registration is mandatory for access to the European Parliament due to accreditation requirements. Participants who have not registered in advance will not be granted access.

Kindly also note that photography and video recording will take place during the event for communication and visibility purposes. Should you have any concerns or wish not to be recorded, please inform us in advance via [email protected]
