About Event
Public transit provides access to participate in society for people of all ages, abilities, and incomes. It is not an accident that transit has been the site of many of the US’s civil rights struggles. Mass transit is a mechanism for an integrated society as both a public arena that people of different backgrounds share and a way for people to travel across diverse regions. We will discuss how transit is a bellwether for multi-racial inclusive democracy, how it is being undermined, and what we can do in California to protect and strengthen transit.
