Session 5: Kek Lapis Compost Stewardship
Join us to tend to community-sized aerobic compost heaps.
This is part of a longer compost stewardship training programme that began on 11 October.
You are joining a practice circle where we build and tend to community-sized compost heaps in a private school near HortPark.
The compost heaps would be ~5 weeks old. Learn to observe the break down of organic materials in the compost. We will be flipping and watering this heap.
We will be getting participants to try a different composting method that involves fermentation. Expect to do some jumping and dance!
No composting or gardening experience needed. You will be guided by trainers and joining participants of the longer programme. Come curious and be willing to get your hands in kitchen scraps, fallen leaves, compost, and more.

Trainers
Cuifen Pui and Rao Yongliang are makers of living compost. They make hot compost heaps using a layering method that Cuifen calls it the Kek Lapis approach to compost-making.
