A Native Plant Festival Field Trip For Our Plant Native Laurel Canyon Group

​Happy Spring PNLC Community -

​There is a wonderful opportunity to visit the California Botanic Gardens on Saturday March 28th during their annual festival of Native Plants.  The gardens and herbarium are always worth a visit, but during the festival, there will be food trucks, an artisan market, panels, gardening workshops, Tongva Ethnobotany panel (and village at the gardens) and a host of native plant related companies with booths and demonstrations that may be helpful in our own garden decisions.  See the atttached flyer below.  FREE but do reserve tickets ahead of time.

​It is about an hour from Laurel Canyon, so a commitment.  We can coordinate carpooling.  Although there will be food trucks at the festival, the nearby town of Claremont has wonderful places to eat.  Also nearby (10 minute drive from Botanic Gardens) is the exceptional Waterwise Community Center & Chino Basin Water Conservation District.  Their demonstration gardens are absolutely amazing, and they and staff are a great resource.

​p.s. and there is also Dividing the Light, a Skyspace by James Turrell, which is a light sculpture at Pomona College open to public, meant to be seen at dawn or dusk.  Link for info.
