βYear Up United Bay Area Alumni β let's give back together!
βThis National Alumni Service Week, we're heading to Ocean Beach to volunteer with the Surfrider Foundation on a hands-on dune restoration project. We'll be planting native dune grass to restore critical coastal habitat, prevent beach erosion, and help protect San Francisco's shoreline against rising seas.
βThis is a great opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni, get your hands dirty for a meaningful cause, and contribute to the health of our local ecosystem β all in one morning.
βπ± What We'll Be Doing Planting and maintaining native vegetation to stabilize dune habitat along Ocean Beach as part of Surfrider Foundation's ongoing restoration efforts.
βπͺ What to Expect Tasks include digging, squatting, and carrying supplies on uneven sandy terrain. It's active, rewarding work β come ready to move!
ββ What to Bring & Wear β’ Comfortable closed-toe shoes β’ Layers (it's Ocean Beach β it will be breezy!) β’ A reusable water bottle β’ Yourself and good energy!
βTools and gloves will be provided. All other supplies included.
ββ° Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.
