The Grant Work(out): Proposal in Progress

​Grant writing is better when you have dedicated time and a supportive space to work alongside others.

​Every organization brings a different program, community, and mission to its proposal. The Grant Work(out) gives you a place to turn your unique ideas into a strong grant narrative through dedicated, focused work time coupled with support from peers and Root Reach Rise expert consultants.

​Think of it as a group-workout-style grant writing session: you bring the proposal you want to move forward, and we provide the space, structure, support, and momentum to help you make progress.

​No judgment, no pressure. We’re here to support you.

​Come for one session or multiple sessions, depending on what you need.

​This Grant Work(out) will focus on San Francisco’s Community Challenge Grants Request for Proposals (RFP).

​Who should attend?

​Anyone who wants to dedicate focused time to creating a competitive grant proposal. Whether you’re starting with an idea, developing your narrative, or strengthening a draft, the Writing Room gives you dedicated time and support to move your proposal forward.

​What if I want help working on a different grant?

​Come anyway! While we’ll be focusing on the Community Challenge Grants RFP, the Writing Room is about helping you make progress on your grant writing. Bring the grant you’re working on, your questions, and whatever you’ve written so far. We’ll help where we can.

​Why come down to SOMA instead of attending on Zoom?

​While Zoom is an option, we encourage you to join us in person if you can. There’s something different about sitting down in a room with other people who are working toward the same goal. You get the group support, dedicated space, motivation, and opportunity to brainstorm with others.
