Rediscovering What We Can Accomplish Together
Join the Long Beach Time Exchange for an afternoon of connection, discovery, and community building. Whether you're a longtime member or brand new to time exchanges (sometimes called time banking), this FREE gathering is designed to help us explore what becomes possible when we pool our time and talents.
What is Time Exchange?
Time exchange is a way of giving and receiving help where everyone's time has equal value. When you help someone for an hour, you earn one time credit. Use that credit to get help from anyone in our network. An hour of dog walking equals an hour of tax preparation equals an hour of gardening equals an hour of tutoring. We all have gifts to share, and we all have things we need - time exchanges make both visible and connect us to each other.

Long Beach residents who want to learn what time exchanging is all about, and are looking for ways to give and receive help
Current LBTE members ready to connect and meet fellow LB time exchange folks IRL
Anyone interested in building community through mutual support and reciprocity
What to Expect
🍲 Community Potluck - Bring a dish to share if you can, but coming empty-handed is absolutely ok
🎨 Live Music + Story Teller - Local talent!
🌳 Request and Offer Sharing - A collaborative conversation about our individual needs and talents. Discover what people can offer and what they're looking for help with.
💻 Time Exchange 101 - Learn more about the LBTE, how it works, and our mission and values. Get hands-on help with the hOurworld time exchange platform.
🤝 Connection Time - The heart of the gathering: meeting fellow LBTE folk, having real conversations, and discovering possibilities for collaboration
This is a welcoming, relaxed gathering focused on building relationships and exploring how we can support each other.
